Message Maybe it is because inconel has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion than 304 Stainless? (LTEC - Linear temperature expansion coefficient - units are inches/inches*degreesF x10e-6)

Inconel: 7.0
304 Stainless: 9.6

According to this page: [ http://www.piping-toolbox.com/14_95.html ]

I realize that isn't a huge difference (~37%) but thought this might be one of the reasons. Of course, I'm sure a phone call to/from Greg D. would provide the real answer.

Cheers,
Jason
